Jeff joined Omnica in 1996 after graduating from the mechanical engineering program at University of California, Santa Barbara. He received and has maintained his Professional Engineer’s license since 2001 and became a Registered Patent Agent in 2003. He takes an interdisciplinary approach to inventive design and appreciates the entrepreneurial culture. He is an experienced and discriminating problem solver when developing sophisticated mechanisms in the 3D CAD environment where he also can applying his knowledge of material science.
Jeff is an expert SolidWorks 3D CAD modeler and hands-on prototype fabricator (3- and 4-axis cnc milling and turning, laser and water jet cutting, 3D Printing, etc.). He has been lead designer on projects as varied as ophthalmologic R&D fixtures, manufacturing production fixtures, a point-of-care breast cancer screening device, waterproofing solutions for insulin pumps, training tools for cardiac surgeons, surgical devices, an award winning oxygen therapy device, a number of injection syringe designs, an intracorporeal organ retractor, hand-held military instruments, and micro-scaled cell handling devices.
