Brad Sargent PhD

Brad received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego in 1989. His research centered on biosensors, inorganic thin-film electrochemical sensors, and the integration of sensors with micromachining processes. His post-doc activities included a year developing silicon microchip sensors at the Institute for Microtechnology in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

After a stint as a senior scientist at UniFET Inc. (aka SenDx), Brad joined Omnica in 1998. His science background, coupled with experience in electronics, mechanics, fluidics, and software made him a natural addition to Omnica’s Advanced Technical Services Group. He has been highly involved in the development of sophisticated medical devices and instruments at Omnica and his expertise in sensor development is regularly applied to the development of novel analytical instruments.

With his working knowledge of FDA design control regulations, Brad is often involved in design-of-experiments, feasibility studies, product safety evaluations, data acquisition and analysis, and software verification and validation. In 2016, he was promoted to Vice President of Engineering and serves on Omnica’s management team.
