According to the CDC, Native Americans, African-Americans, and Latinx people are three times more likely to contract COVID-19. And they are 4-5X more likely to be hospitalized due to it. Yet, people of color are underrepresented in COVID-19 clinical trials. That’s a serious problem!
In 1993 the U.S. passed the NIH Revitalization Act, establishing guidelines for the inclusion of women and minorities in clinical research. Not much has changed since 1993. In this session, our experts will weigh in on this systemic problem, the advancements that will ensure more inclusivity, and how start-ups can lead the change.
