![]() Sonic Toothbrush Developer Honored with Award Congratulations to one of our
long-standing (and ongoing) clients, Ron Murayama, for receiving a 2002
“Entrepreneur of the Year” award from Ernst & Young. The founder
of Amden Corporation was honored in the category of Manufacturing/Consumer
products. Years ago the former dentist hired us as his
primary design and engineering resource for development of Soniplak, an
ultrasonic toothbrush and flossing system. Eventually re-named
Cyberssonic®, the system went through a number of iterations until it
reached its current form. It is now marketed as a complete oral care
system consisting of a rechargeable sonic toothbrush body coupled with
interchangeable brush, tongue cleaner, and flossing heads. Also included
in the system are tubes of a proprietary whitening gel. Marketing is
accomplished through major chain stores and a series of celebrity-featured
infomercials. Omnica Corporation ( www.omnica.com ) performs all of the design and engineering of his products. Still, Ron’s success is in large part due to hard work, mental perseverance, and an eagerness to work closely with our designers and engineers. He is a frequent visitor to the Omnica facility where we continue to confer, develop, and revise new accessories for his oral care line. Even with Omnica as an asset, however, Ron continues to be on–the-move. Last year he elected to accept the personal challenge of improving his business and managerial expertise by successfully completing Wharton Business School’s West Coast Executive MBA program. He is applying his newly refined skills to an already growing business. |
