Small Business
Administration Award
We would like to share with you what we
believe is valuable information for anyone considering using our services.
Omnica (www.omnica.com
) was recently honored with a nomination as “Small Business Contractor
of the Year”, a Small Business Administration award given by one of our
major clients (a Fortune 500 company). It's worth noting that an
independent third party who had no preconceived ideas about us compiled
the nominating report. Our customer convinced the SBA evaluator to visit
our facility. It is her job to interview both the nominator and the
contractor-nominee to decide if consideration of the award is warranted.
Even
though we were nominated, we can’t take sole credit for the positive
comments made by the interviewer. A critical aspect of successful product
development is the quality of interaction with our client managers. We
are at our best when dealing with empowered, well-informed project
managers, especially when attempting challenging ventures. The client’s
products do not always have existing specifications, but we are better
able to perform our job when we receive effective support from their
management team. Considered input in a timely manner helps keep everything
on track. In the six-page report it was stated that, “The Nominator has
experienced 100% on-time delivery”. She goes on to say, “This is very
high praise from a demanding group of customers who operate in a very
fast-paced environment.”
Regarding project expenses, the
interviewer also wrote that our costs were “very competitive,” and at
the “medium to low end of the ranges” charged by other companies. The
client company related that their “in-house resources can not compete
with the costs charged the Nominee.” Do reasonable rates translate to
compromised quality? Not according to the report submitted by
the interviewer which stated, “In the opinion of the Nominator, the
quality of their work (Omnica’s) cannot be duplicated, even in-house at
our major . . . facility”.
Of all the comments expressed by the
interviewer, the following is the one we feel best expresses Omnica’s
business approach regarding our clients: “They are truly team players
– allowing the customer to define their role – based on need”.
